something that deviates from what is standard, normal, or expected...

...that's what I seek, what I've always sought, to deviate from the normal; in my life, in my art, in my writing, and every other aspect.  I've tried to talk myself out of this before, convince myself that I wanted to be like everyone else, but I could never break the bonds my true inner-being held me in retention with.  Therefore, I embraced it, my inner-being and all that came with him, giving him permission to show his shy, but unique face to the world.  You see, I used to think my inner-being grounded me to myself like an anchor, when in reality it was my rocket to the stars.
